Code of Conduct

SLAP recognizes that, in the world of transgressive sexuality, what’s sexy to one leatherfreak could be squeamish to another. We understand leather involves a history of perverting that which harms us. While you may not feel comfortable with everything you see, these are the things that you should never experience, be subject to, or witness at our events:

  • Guns or firearms
  • Racial slurs
  • Fascist fetishism (regalia and symbols from fascist regimes)
  • Actions that reflect or excuses for racism, sexism, ableism, transphobia, or white nationalism
  • Sexual harassment/unwanted advances

We expect our attendees to take care of themselves around things they find personally unsettling or triggering, and to take care of each other by naming any of the above and/or bringing it to the attention of an organizer.

Consent models: RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) & PRICK (Personal Responsibility, Informed Consensual Kink).

Play at your experience level and be reflective of your skill set.

We work with the Autonomous Body Shop to provide safer sex and harm reduction supplies.

Anti-Racism & Inclusivity

SLAP is an anti-racist, pro-Black community. We do not tolerate any forms of racism, discrimination, or hate and we acknowledge the history of harm in leather spaces against Black communities. We as an assembly work to create a safe place for everyone to enjoy leather and SM, but especially Black people and people of color. SLAP recognizes that racism impacts people in varied and intersecting ways. We are committed to creating and maintaining a space for leatherfreaks of every identity.

SLAP is dedicated to preserving, advancing, and uplifting BIPOC leather presence within our local and neighboring communities. SLAP aims to strengthen its ties within all communities by bringing together diverse backgrounds, histories, and cultures—as well as celebrating and highlighting those diversities. We aim to make our presence known while also honoring the under-served communities we stand alongside and among.

SLAP is and will forever be an inter-generational assembly. We as leatherfolk will continue to honor those who paved the way before us. We work towards both strengthening and advancing the ties of leather between all generations, uplifting each other in leather and power.

SLAP does not tolerate any forms of ableism, ageism, racism, sexism, zionism, biphobia, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or any non-consensual bullying or other oppressive behavior.

If you encounter any of the above, please bring it to the attention of a DM or organizer immediately. Email us for inquiries or concerns.
